Somewhere along the way you learned to be the strong one. This is the hour where you get to put that down.

Individual therapy is a standing hour that belongs entirely to you. No performance, no managing anyone else's feelings, no editing yourself down to the version that keeps things smooth. Just you, someone paying close attention, and the space to say the thing you have not said out loud yet.

People come to this work for all kinds of reasons. Anxiety that will not quiet down. A low, gray depression. A sense of self-worth that never quite took root. Relationships that keep echoing the same painful shape. Questions of identity, meaning, and who you are underneath the roles you carry. Or a life transition that has left you standing somewhere unfamiliar, unsure of who you are now.

Whatever brings you, the aim is the same. Not to slap a label on you or hand you a coping script, but to understand you, the whole of you, and to help you live with more freedom, more honesty, and more room to breathe.

Who this is for

  • Adults who function well on the outside but feel stretched thin, stuck, or quietly unhappy underneath
  • People working through anxiety, depression, shaky self-worth, relationship patterns, identity, or a hard transition
  • Entertainment-industry professionals who need a discreet, unimpressed place to be a person rather than a brand
  • People navigating a serious medical diagnosis, chronic illness, or the long tail of a health scare
  • Filipino, Filipina-American, and Asian-American clients who want a therapist who understands the cultural weight they carry

How I work

My work is personalized to you, not run off a template. Drawing on psychodynamic, attachment, and client-centered theory, I want to understand where your patterns came from, what they have been trying to protect, and how they learned to run the show. We look at the roots, not only the symptoms, because that is what makes change hold.

At the same time, I do not believe you should suffer for months waiting for insight to arrive. We build practical, in-the-moment relief early, so you feel a difference in your daily life while the deeper work unfolds underneath it.

This is slow, human, relational work, and it happens inside a relationship where you feel genuinely understood. As a psychologist I provide therapy rather than medication. If medication might help, I coordinate with a trusted psychiatrist so your care stays connected.

What the work looks like together

01

We begin with your story

The first sessions are for understanding, not diagnosing. Your history, your relationships, what is hurting now, and what you are hoping could be different.

02

You get relief early

You will not wait months to feel something shift. We build tools you can use between sessions, so the pressure starts to ease while the deeper work continues.

03

We reach the roots

Together we get underneath the presenting problem to the beliefs and old experiences driving it, and gently begin to rewrite them.

04

You live differently

The measure of our work is not a calmer session. It is a fuller life outside this hour, more honest, more yours, less run by old fear.

Questions people ask

Good things to know

How do I know if individual therapy is the right fit for me?

If part of you has been carrying something heavy and you would like a thoughtful, private place to set it down and understand it, you are likely a good fit. Our first conversation is a chance to feel that out together, with no pressure to commit.

What does it cost, and do you take insurance?

Sessions with me begin at $285. Our practice accepts some insurance plans, offers a limited sliding scale, and can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. You will find the current details on our Fees page.

Is telehealth really as effective as sitting in an office?

Yes. Research consistently shows telehealth therapy is as effective as in-person work, and many clients find that being in their own space helps them open up more easily. Every session is held on a secure, confidential platform.

Do you only see clients in Los Angeles?

No. I work with adults via secure telehealth anywhere in California. You do not need to be in LA, only in the state.
